Sydney Fast Ferries is an
Australian owned business run by John McPherson, Managing Director, and Terry
Dodd, Chairman. Between them, John and Terry have over 60 years experience in
the marine industry.
Terry has operated high speed
ferry and charter operations, commercial and tourist diving ventures, and commercial
marine operations. He is currently a director of Sealink,
an award winning ferry operator based in Queensland, which provides high speed
passenger and tourist services from Townsville to Magnetic and Palm Islands.
Sealink (formerly Sunferries)
is the second oldest ferry company in Australia, with a heritage dating back to
the early 1890s. The company also owns Captain
Cook Cruises , who provide services throughout Australia and
Fiji.
John's background and
experience is in the construction, project management, and operation of high
quality yachts and commercial vessels in Queensland, New South Wales and even
the USA.
Prior to Sydney Fast Ferries,
he was Managing Director of Sydney Ship Repair and Engineering Pty Ltd and
Sydney Fuel and Barge Pty Ltd. Together, John and Terry oversee a highly
skilled operational team. Our captains, engineers and deck crew are all
experienced in high speed ferry services, and are trained to the highest
industry standards. This team is supported by a professional management and
office support team, based at Rozelle.
